I remember growing up my mom gave both me and my sister a little section in the side yard that could be our own garden. From what I recall, my sister enthusiastically grew plants and flowers in hers, and I left mine completely barren. At least I've finally come around, and I've started to realize that she has influenced me in the garden:
1. Newly planted anything are "babies," most often as in "I need to water my babies."
2. We like flowers! I see a lot of yards here with mostly bushes, but my mom has always had flowers and I like to have some too.
3. We do not like squirrels, and all dogs that live in our house are expected to go outside and bark when told "Go get that squirrel"
Happy (very late) Mother's Day Mom!
